Also, the avengers has took $200.3 million in its opening weekend. That's smashed the record set by the last Harry Potter by 30 odd million.

Went to see Silent House tonight. Its a bit fucked up but would defo recommend it.

Btw, Browns Barn up near Citywest do a deal for 40 euro, you get two starters, two main courses and two cinema tickets for Vue cinema for 40 euro. Great value.

You weren't wrong about this. Saw it tonight in Liffey Valley, and its the most kickassingist movie ever.

Anyone see "Tropa de Elite"? It's a Brazilian movie about the BOPE Police in the Favella's. Pretty damn good film. There's a second one too, which I'll watch soon!

It's called "Elite Squad" in English...

That reminded me of City of God. Absolute must see, brilliant film. About young lads growing up in the Brazilian slums.
City of Men is the same too but set around an older group of lads.

Yeah. Only reason I watched Tropa de Elite was because my mate said that it was like City of God, which is an epic film alright!

2nd one isnt great, 1st one is very good.

Got this movie last night without reading anything or watching a trailer for it. Expected some sword and sandle shite

    Coriolanus

The citizens of Rome are hungry. Coriolanus, the hero of Rome, a great soldier and a man of inflexible self-belief despises the people. His extreme views ignite a mass riot. Rome is bloody. Manipulated and out-maneuvered by politicians and even his own mother Volumnia, Coriolanus is banished from Rome. He offers his life or his services to his sworn enemy Tullus Aufidius
    Strange movie.

No let up at all, except maybe the first and last 60 seconds.
Who do you reckon will play the lead in the inevitable hollywood remake? My money is on Jason Stathom
I'll have to try and find this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1368116/ Same director and main guy. If its half as good it will still be awesome.

it is quite awesome, should just let evans make the expendables tbh.

Merantau, its more ninja focused than Raid. Still a decent watch (if your on UPC search piratebay 720p rip on it) if your on Eircom click below.

Without Baiano and the loose ends from the 1st its not a great movie.

Dark City on TCM now and on plus 1 a decent mind fuck of a movie.

Matrix came out a year later........

That Dark City is a quality film. great ending to it.
Just watched Gone Baby Gone there. It was on RTE1 last night, absolutely brilliant film. Casey Affleck is probably a better actor then Ben. Him and Ed Harris make that film.

Ben directed that. Its a fantastic movie, out of a fantastic book. Dennis Lehane wrote it. He also gave us mystic river and shutter island.

Yeah I know, he directed the Town too which is meant to be good.
Shutter Island is on next week, another great film, even after you've seen it once or twice.

The town is a cracking movie. Jeremy Renner is great in that. So is affleck. I quite like him (affleck) in movies, despite all the shit he gets.
