Windows P.C. Repair Scam
Has anyone else had a call from people presenting themselves as Windows Authorised P.C Repair specialists ? They tell you that they received information that your P.C is running slow and that they will repair it for you at no cost. I spoke with an "Alex" and "Helena" (Unusual Indian names)based in Dame Street, Dublin Ph no. 01-4429620 and Helena looked for access to my P.C, which of course I didn't give her. The no. they phoned me on was 0023456789. They hung up when I suggested that they were more cowboys than Indians.
Seemingly a lot of people have been conned by them, so just in case you haven't come across them yet, beware.
Is there anything that can be done to stop these chancers?

It's a scam. I've been getting them for a few months. Inititally, they just spouted their unbelivable shite about my PC being infected by a virus and I just hung up. However, lately, they are actually claiming to be Microsoft. It's a scam to get your personal information/credit card details or plant spyware on your PC.
They appear to have an autodial system. If you answer, it takes a few seconds before you're connected to an agent. If you lift the phone and hear hold music, just hang up.
This is classic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBfsdkGeMc8
