Nothing new there. Bohs have until mid February to come to an agreement with the players, so there is plenty of time yet. Both sides seem to be holding out for as long as possible. The two players must not have gotten any deals otherwise I think they'd have moved on by now.
One of them has a deal lined up (Shelley) but he's waiting on his Bohs money.
If they're not paid today, they're going to the high court
The way Bohs behaved themselves last financially was a disgrace.
No way they should be let into Europe.
They were obviously budgeting for more Euro money and lied to the FAI all along from the start of the season.
"Yet the club are refusing to budge on their original offer of 13 weeks from the 52-week deal. The players were initially searching for double that amount to terminate contracts."
Just to make sure I'm reading it correctly, is that saying that Bohs have offered players on 1 year contracts, only 13 weeks wages?
Yep, that's how I read it, a quarter of the money owed. I posted before asking where money was miraculously going to appear from in mid january, now the club is saying there'll be no payments (ha!) made til the middle of next month. Yeah and I've just spotted some porkers flying by the window.
Yes, thats exactly it.
This is, of course, at the same time as not having paid them for the past 8 weeks or so.
The players want 26 weeks pay off. I only found out today that the lawyer representing the 2 players is the PFAI lawyer
Players shouldn't budge an inch - the bastards are trying to break them knowing they have bills mounting up the further time goes on and are going to have to borrow more and more. If a long-established newsagents in Phibsboro were trying to pull this stunt on its staff it'd be claims of 'sharp practice' at forty paces - no difference here.
Unreal reading over on GypoWeb. Seems the players are 100% the cause of all their troubles
If the players don't accept, Bohs go bust, we get Europe?
did they start back pre season today?
hilarious stuff over on gypoweb. They're nuts
Cyril The Judas
Bohs were offering the 13 weeks in November (bringing players up to February when they could find a club)
remember players cannot claim social welfare becaus they are not unemployed- not to mention that Bohs are probably not paying their PRSI & PAYE liabilities.
Bohs have been trying to do another "sale" of land to get hte money to pay off players, revenue etc.
problem is noone wants the land and noone know how much land they have already sold on.
They will have to forfeit the car park land next year which they will owe 2.8 million + interest (probably closer to 3.5-4million) and teh question is will they get €4 million form the car park area?
its the shorter term thats a big issue though- they have about 4 more weeks before the FAI will ahve to make a decision on their licence!
blame sporting meself , once you let them in you'll never get them out...remind you of something .
the league in two years time : sporting fungus & ucdo, sweet mother where did it all go wrong
i dont think they blame the money problems on the 2 players, i think they blame the 2 players for trying to put them out of existance.
what you think if it was of ours trying to get a winding up order for pats, if they were owed a few weeks wages.
We All Dream Of A Team Of Curly Wurly's!!! A Team Of Curly Wurly's!!! A Team Of Curly Wurly's!!!
Eight at pre-season training today. Not even enough for a five-a-side. Anyone hear what happened in court earlier?
From what I saw they're blaming all players for their problems, just the two for the winding up now issue
They keep using that "few weeks" thing over there too, there are players with another 52 weeks on their contracts that Bohs are trying to get shut of, a little more than a "few weeks"
The Gypo's are blaming Stephen McGuinness now
