Yep
1) Bohs need to sell Dalymount to survive
2) Boh can't sell Dalymount

No matter what though, they have an asset that even in this market exceeds their debts so worst case scenario is selling and being shamrock'd right ?
obviously they will get raped on the value, but still

It depends on whether they're allowed sell it, and how much they get for it.
Needs to be done fairly quickly for them to survive from all I hear
And who'd buy it? If it had planning permission maybe, but who will take a 5 or 10 million euro* punt on that?
*I literally have no idea what it would be worth.
Absolutely not. Plenty of bigger projects with more money and jobs at stake were left holding the baby with expensive land not worth much without PP. Now I am not for a minute saying that the site wont get PP. I am asking, who, in this day and age is going to be able to speculate several million euro on a relatively small plot of land without planning permission, in a market that is saturated with empty low cost housing, and still in the depths of a recession. A hotel there would be a disaster, so you are probably looking at a shop/ shop units. Its a much smaller list of possible buyers than 5 years ago.
Shels are still in Tolka for the time being but it has effectively been sold to a consortium. Their chairman, Joe Casey, said recently that he expects them to be out of Tolka within 3 years and said that his preferred solution is a ground-share with Bohs.
Given that Bohs must sell Dalymount and Shels have already sold Tolka & that both of them are completely bust, where will they play? The only possibility at this time it seems is that absolute kip, Morton 'stadium'.
Do I feel sorry for them? Not a bit. Both of them made their bed and are now going to have to reap what they have sown. There are too many clubs in Dublin and the best either club could do is to clear off into the sunset. It is sad for their supporters and also the fact that the fools who run football clubs in this country have wasted two of the best grounds in the country.
Nutsy will do his usual and bugger off just like he did with Shels and Derry.
The same hurdles that held the danninger deal (they've already sold parts of the ground to Albion Dev) still exist.
Gonna be very painful for them but im sure they'll survive...but it's unlikely dalymount will!
Heard Bohs are nailed on for Tolka next season
A step closer to a northside merger ,sporting shelhemians
If we could get the Wicklow sides to merge to form Shamrock Wanderers we'd be laughing. Also a very apt name
Cyril The Judas
It'd be great if Bohes and Shels could work on a project together with Fingal county council to come with a Tallaght like project.
I'd hate to see any of the other 3 top Dublin area clubs go under. (UCD can disappear for all I'd care)
It'd also free us up as being the only Dublin city club
There'd still be ownership questions about it though even with Bohs out of the picture unless that Albion thing has been definitively resolved (which I don't think it has).
By the way in licensing terms it ought to make little difference whether the Zurich loans falls due tomorrow or next June. Either way they have to submit a budget for next season which caters for the repayment of that loan in full.
A bit OT i know, but cork gave a three year contract to Dunne. Seems strange
Cyril The Judas
Your man Cummins is linked with Reading for 100k, seems a bit much for a first Division player
And Brian Kerr is in tears.
TBH
We should get one of these teams in to ground share with us as it will generate extra revenue for ourselves
Fuck shels and bohs for what they have done, they spent money the didn't have and won titles they didn't deserve
Both clubs are vunerable and with inevitable truth that in 2 years time both Dalymount and Tolka could be gone we must seize the chance to make what we can from it
Couple of pro's
Extra Revenue for the Club for Players
Extra Revenue for local business
Our sponser's ( and potential new ones ) could get double their value as they would be displayed at double the amount of games and we could use this as a big bargaining tool for new investment
Extra revenue to improve / repair the ground like the new stand
The enjoyment of of calling more teams ' dirty , homeless bastards '
Cons would obviously be the de-terioration of the pitch
Possible damge to the ground , IE Bohs - Rovers matches
talking to 2 bohs fans, they were told the situation is not as bad as first thought, guy came in to access the damage, he was involved in the cork situation as well.
think bohs fans still hopeful
We All Dream Of A Team Of Curly Wurly's!!! A Team Of Curly Wurly's!!! A Team Of Curly Wurly's!!!
Thats because they're ever optimistic football fans
The board wanted to sell the club this evening, the members voted against it
More ups and downs to come
Sell to who??
And Brian Kerr is in tears.
