When our little one was 1 (we flew out on her first birthday) we stayed in Salou and these apartments

We picked Salou as we'd been there before. (Ryanair) Flight is grand, airport is 20-30 minutes from resort by bus. Apartments are about 5-10 minutes from the noiser part of the resort and very quiet. TV with ability to change to english language helped the late evenings pass. Cost about €6 a night for a cot (was a standard travel cot)

Northern france- get the ferry, have the car. its fairly hassle free.

I handt been on once of these "Mobile home" type gigs in long time, but they all seem to have full resorts now with shops, modern pools, playgrounds, kids club and entertainment (mine last year even had wifi which was great)

Also, having the car makes a big difference when hauling around all the items that come with kids.

Looking at getting away for a week to the sun with herself towards the end of summer/September. Trying to avoid missing major sporting events while blaming anything other than that - hence having to invent a lot of "it'll be too hot then" and "that week is very expensive" type excuses on the spot. Actually this Aer Lingus will they/won't they strike situation carry on is throwing a bit of a spanner in the works, it's unlikely they'd be on strike the days we'd be travelling but don't want the stress of worrying about it all summer.

Playa De Muro in Mallorca is nice for a quiet family break. One of tnhe best beaches around and ideal for kids(a bit early for <1 year old) but it is crystal clear and shallow for quite a bit. Very long beach so no problem with overcrowding.

Ivory Playa Apartments are really nice not huge complex but big enough and again plenty for the kids to do and the big kids too
