    Music & Football Research Project

    Hey Saints,

As part of 3rd year of my degree, I have to present an undergraduate research project. I chose to do mine on the dovetailing interests a lot of us share, namely music, and football. I'd be very grateful if you could take the couple of minutes to fill in this very short (10 question) survey.
I'm not allowed say what my hypothesis is, as it will render any data gathered biased, but they are non-intrusive impersonal questions about your musical, and footballing tastes. In any case, there is 100% anonymity, and confidentiality involved.

I'm also not very good at this module so if anyone who's gone through this process before has any advice, particularly when it comes to secondary data, and empirical knowledge, I'd love to hear it.

The survey shouldn't take more than 2-3 minutes and it can be found here

Like I said I'd really appreciate it if you could fill it out for me.

    Cheers,

    Gary

Just on that there might be an entry in there that points out the former were a load of overhyped shite. It's still anonymous though.

Cheers lads. So far 28 out of 70 have cited Oasis as one of their favourite bands so not far off half. Way more than anyone else.

I have the 100 people surveyed that I needed now so thank you very much to everyone who filled out the questionnaire, I really appreciate it. I'd budgeted 2 weeks to get 100 people surveyed and I got them all (and one extra) in, in 24 hours. Yas are a pack of legends.

"Is there a social and/or cultural link between football and music"

    Just over 100 people surveyed:

Oasis romped home with 37% of people saying they were a favourite band
Next was The Stone Roses with 21%.
Third was Arctic Monkeys with 14%.
Surprise for me was The Smiths only getting 4% of the mentions.

    Top 3 Piss-takes: (Favourite Band)

    Fuck You Gary
    Rubber Band
Pope John Paul II on tin whistle.

All in all a job well done all round lads. Cheers. I really appreciate it. I'll post the finished product here when it's done in case anyone wants to have a read.
