Conor Murphy was playing in the 5 a side place I work tonight, reckons he'll be back at Bohs, really enjoyed it at Pats despite not getting a look in

INteresting off season so far.
We are looking pretty strong and will be at least as strong as last year (especially if Bisto returns in March)
Dundalk have resigned everyone/not lost anyone significant, but thus far have been slow to add to the squad - can Kenny keep the siege mentality next year?
Sligo look weakened, internal rumblings, losing a few players and slow to replace them- is the team on a downward trend?
Shams (like ot or not) ahve probably done some shrewd business, releasing 9 high earners and replacing with 3-4 higher earners, I think the smaller squad will help Croly control the egos and als Martin Russell is the older/expereinced person that Croly possibly needs. tehy signed 2 very steady defenders (Madden and Kenna) and Croly no doubt has learnt from us how replacing your quarterback (Boler for Chambers) can work wonders- unfortuntely they realistically cannot be worse than last year.
Derry have teh Roddy factor and always seem to be competitive. King of the siege mentality and Northerners love nothing better than a siege.
Cork had a cracking finish to the season, they have signed astutely and could possibly replace Sligo as top 3 contenders?
Its early days this summer, but its been interesting thus far. one thing to remember is how consistent Bucko has been as a manager the last number of years. Add to this he is probably the most experienced manager in the Premier League and an excellent motivator.
2009 - 1st Div Champs & Cup Final (Fingal)
2010 - Prem Div 4th (Fingal)
2011 - Plotting his return to the Kingdom
2012 - Prem Div 3rd and Cup Final (Pats)
2013 - Pre Div Champions (Pats)
Yup- they would be a HUGE loss and would realitically take them out of title contention.
However the Ryan to canada thing is just a rumour (which hasnt been quashed yet) and Finn hasnt actually signed for anyone and no doubt Shams would want a decent fee.
You would wonder how the last 24 months has effected them financially, 2 seasons with no europe and poor performance, comfortably the highest spending team (probably nearly double anyone elses budget), management pay offs, legacy contracts and poor morale. while crowds are still relatively high they are only 50% what they were getting and of course its well known that the 400 club has only a fraction of the active members it once had (still higher than our patrons though)
It seems this season letting the 9 players go (most on decent money) means they can push the boat out and offer mad money for the likes of Zayed, RR, Kenna, Russell. Towell etc
It seems on the face of it Dundalk have blown alot of their budget retaining towell as they have been very very quiet and ahvent been mentioned in the rumours for anyone really.
as i said- interesting off season, its lining up for a very interesting 2014 season. Best league in the world!
Kavnagh Jason Byrne and Craig Walsh all signed for Bohs
Billy Dennehy signed for Cork.
With all our talk of Danny North, it's interesting to see that nobody has been quick to snap him up.

The ins and outs so far
Foran to Limerick apparently and Del Pendergast and Sean Brennan follow Mick Cooke to Athlone.
Good signing for Cork

Cork lost/will lose their 4 best players from last year too. Wouldn't be too worried about them
"We've seen you come, we'll see you go"
If they have Rafter in place of Kilduff it's a massive step backwards. Elding might score a few goals for them but he'll have lost the surprise factor he had last year. Once we showed people how to handle him the goals dried up fairly quickly.
Danny North satying in Sligo alongside Keane

Running out of options in the centre forward position. A tad concerning
Stephen Elliot is without a club.

Who's rob cornwall ?
Foran & sullivan released
Griffin gone from Derry, I'd take him
And Brian Kerr is in tears.
