Can't see Kelly going to Ballinamallard, hes always had issues with time off from work.
A mate was talking to Hawkins last week and Hawkins said any players signed are for the premier team. The first division team will be their U19s team + 4 players who aren't involved each week. That means Coombes, Lyons and Cornwall are all in their premier team. There must be money issues there if that's the case
Both Bayly and Kelly are training with Rovers at the moment.
Keppy is signed or about to sign and Bayly is looking likely to be offered something.
two really strange signings.
I stil lcant understand how the league will allow rovers drop and promote players at will - surely a B team must be a seperate entity and players only moving up/down in transfer windows? it makes a joke of the league and give a competitive advantage to Rovers who can keep all their players sharp/ content while other teams are trying to rotate/ dont have access to areserve league..
The likes of Philly Hughes, Jake Kelly, Fitzpatrick etc would have gained hugely from regualr football last year.

I saw that last night and looked him up a little. He didn't last long with Schalke and dropped quickly to the 4th tier in Germany.

Its no Fahey but might not be a bad signing.
4 full Ireland internationals in the league now. Brings a total of 41 caps to the league, been a while since theres been that many Ireland caps at once in the league
Fahey 16
Healy 13
McPhail 10
J Byrne 2
When you say his surname, it certainly suits Rovers. McFail
Negativity is the new Positivity.
Always surprised more ex internationals don't end up back here for a few years
Let's be honest. Fahey has problems too and that's why he can't stay in England. However, his problems are far more manageable than McFail's and relatively speaking he has age on his side.
Biggest difference is motivation, though. McPhail's moving as a lifestyle choice, as if he sees the LOI as some form of semi-retirement. That's fine if like Del Piero or Guardiola you're so good you have something to offer with the minimum effort. McPhail probably doesn't know what he has let himself in for. Fahey, on the other hand, knows the league inside out and still has the motivation of earning himself a return to the UK.
And in fairness, a huge element of Faheys decision to come home was for personal happiness, he never settled socially in the UK and anyone who knows his story appreciate he is a homebird.
Fahey would have comfortably had a championship club offering a decent contract if it was t for injuries and timing, I think we have be excited hugely from this.
At 34 Mcphail will I doubt be a tidy player, but will be really offer any dynamism, creativity or drive? Nowadays he is a "sit in the hole" type player, except without the defensive game most players in that position have.
Acid test is would If i got a call on monday offering, would i have taken Mcphail to pats ?
No is the answer, I'd prefer Fats, Bolger, Lynch, Forrester and Killer in the centre any day.
Having said that, shams look very weak in CM and most likely he will improve them
the homeless have resigned Dean Kelly and Bayly...
