Devlin not hanging around there by the sounds of it. Look forward to reading that statement during the week. Should be a fun one.
They'd be a banker to go down with him in charge and Byrne and Waters gone
Will be interesting to see who Matthews can attract to Bray after what happened last year alright. Cant find a "to be relegated price on Paddy Powers but last on the list of betting @400/1 to win it (",)
Another interesting signing for Dundalk

I still think their defence and GK are piss poor.
Midfield will be stronger than last with the addition of Horgan to Towell, O'Donnell and Yer man who used to play for us that I cant remember right now.
Having said that, alot of last season was built upon alot of hungry players with a point to prove, we saw what happened Drogheda (I think Dundalk are a good bit better than that Drogs team).
It'll be an interesting Season,
Cork - expect to be better,
Shams - cant really be as bad (they have a weaker squad, but Croly is a bit more experienced now, has John Gill and I think their defence will concede fewer stupid goals)
Dundalk - Strengthened, but have lsot the surprise package tag, be interesting to see what they do.
Sligo - remained fairly static, kept their big players, but its still a team short Quigley, McGuinness
Gonna be good- but I think we hvae the best squad & one of the best managers- looking forward to it!
the Gill appointment at Rovers is a mad one, Crolly and Gill hardly even know each other and I don't think Gill has the same philosophy as Croly as to how the game should be played.
Whole thing looks a car crash but football being football means it'll probably work out.

Is this a 'Spot the Difference' competition saintly? Really tough one if it is.
We are at war with Eurasia. We've always been at war with Eurasia.
Longford now sign Pat Sullivan , that on top of Don Cowan , Rice and O Connor from bray .
They weren't a million miles of last season , surely a shoe in for 1st division now

An updated list of transfers.
Heard Ryan Coombes is signing for Rovers, probably for the B team

2 more in at Dundalk
I know the same accusation can be levelled at us but Dundalk seem to be spending big money. They'll need to be in contention all season for it not to go pear shaped. Can see thi going badly wrong for them. They were under the radar for most of last season but they'll have a bit more pressure on them this year.
they've also lashed up ticket prices. so, if everything is going well and they are consistently in the top 3, they should be fine i reckon....BUT....if they have a bad spell, fickle supporters will decide its too much to pay in all of a sudden, and with their wage bill, i cant imagine they could handle that sort of dip in attendence. all hypothetical of course and people in glass houses etc, but doesnt mean it isnt so

in fairness to Dundalk they got pretty good crowds during the latter part of the season.
They have also got a decent amount of support from sponsors (arent fyffes paying Richie Towells new contract?)
They also have pushed alot of fans into their patronised into regular payments.
No doubt though they have spent a decent amount, strong rumours of a newr 20k fee for Horgan, I was told by a Sham that Towell had agreed a 4 figure contract with them before changing his mind when Dundalk beat it. Also O'Donnell and Hoban would cost significantly more than this time last year.
It would stand that their playing budget has at least doubled which is dangerous ground that Dundalk have been down before in the not too distant past.
As I've said before though, their defence and keeper are still pony and its the siege mentality that motivated them last year- we all need to start saying lovely things about them and it'll burst their bubble
The Horgan fee was 10k.
Dundalk are taking a gamble as they've upped prices and launched their 500 club. There's already rumblings about that as they promised a monthly draw and haven't had one yet. They'll need to start well to keep momentum up
They've definitely improved on last year's squad but genuinely, not one of their players would get into our first 11. Maybe one of the centre halves like Boyle might. Towell may well go on to be the best player in the league but he's not better than any of the 3 we have
"We've seen you come, we'll see you go"
I don't buy into this crap of a sponsor paying a players wages. It just means that fyffes are giving them money as a sponsor and they're wasting it all on one player. That money could be spent an awful lot better than 1 player.
I head rovers offered between €800 - €1k a week over 40 weeks and Dundalk offered him the same weekly wage over 52 weeks.
Total stupidity on behalf of the club that matches their supporters
if fyffes ate paying towell that's bananas
I'd guess that Fahey is on a similar agreement (ie the wages are paid seperately to the main budget). Doesn't really matter as it's still the club that will have to pay them if anything happens
