I genuinely can't believe people want Tommy Stewart here.

He'd be an improvement on Philly Hughes.

Chambers being let go adds strength to the Russell rumours.

Everytime Stewart played against us he had a decent game , definitely an improvement on Hughes and really good squad player if we got him. Works really hard off the ball which is what Bucko clearly likes .

I find it hilarious that they're going nuts over Rice being let go. Average player at best who knows how to play up to the crowd. They only like him because he puts a shift in, every player in our squad does that as standard. He sticks out for that lot because theres so many that don't.

From that list, I'd take Oman as a third-choice CB and McCormack as cover for both Greg and Ger. Don't think Stewart is that good, I reckon we need three CFs in the squad next year and and I wouldn't have Stewart ahead of any of Fagan, North, Kilduff or Shepherd. Rice is an honest grafter but it'd be like signing Dave Mulcahy Lite, couldn't see him fitting in with how we play.

Wouldn't be too hard to be an improvement on a guy who didn't play a minute of league football for us.

If Rice and Oman sign for us that'd be two long term Camac regulars that would have nephews playing for us.

I dont know if its true, but was told by a Rovers fan that Croly told Quigley he can leave and that he will never play under him again, we were in serious talks with him and Croly refused to sanction it and after today he said its looks like Croly has decided to keep him.

He siad rumours in tallaght are Cork and us have offered Kilduff a contract and Rovers are happy for him to go to Cork but not to us. He is insisting Rovers pay him severance (he is paid 52 weeks apparently) and also pay his relocation costs.

he said there is a huge complex from Croly toward us (Bucko) right now and even though Kilduff has made it clear he doesnt want to play under Croly and he has fallen out with Quigo, Croly wont let either come here (which I understand)

Members at Rovers are going mad saying Croly is more concerned with what Pats are doing than what Shamrock Rovers need and Crolys efforts are aimed at diminishing us and not at improving them.

Also says there is a huge upheaveal at membership level and that he has been told by dozens of die hard members that they will not be renewing membership and that Croly and Roche must go.

He was livid about Rice, McCormock and Dennehy being allowed to leave saying those 3 are the good professionals while the likes of Soccy, McCabe and Quigley infest the dressing room.

good see see all is well in the pig sty!

I don't understand it, if he doesn't want them, why is he trying to control where to go to? Sad to see he's such a complex about pats. I think it's very petty.

You're off your paella mate, he's always steaming around the pitch. He's constantly on his rissottoes and always a pan full for defences.

His wok rate can't be underestimated

Ronan Finn is on trial with Burnley.
What midfielders do they have left apart from Ryan?

In fairness, I love slagging Rovers- but that squad needed an overhaul for a few years now.

Most of the players they let go wouldn’t interest us (because they are shit/over the hill) – the likes of McCormock and 1/2 others could be decent squad players though and ahve potential to do more.

The likes of Powell, Stewart and Elebert are shit, Rice was no doubt on decent money and from what I hear TC felt Rice had more power in the dressing room than he did.

Oman and McCormock have been linked to us for weeks, so no doubt these were lined up before the season finished.

They will still be left with a squad of

    Murphy
    Madden, Kenna, McGuinness, Byrne
    McCabe, Ryan, Finn, **Russell**, Soccy
    Kilduff

    Subs
    Zayed
    Quigley
Shepherd (their forum says this morning that he is now staying)
    Foran

+ no doubt they will add to it.

Ok Finn is potentially leaving and Russell is only hearsay, but all told that’s not a bad squad for Nov 14th and the bulk of those 9 players would have been on fairly hefty wages.

Sometime a smaller squad is easier to manage and that’s been Crolys biggest challenge (and indeed Kenny’s too) that the squad felt they were bigger than the manager- in fairness to TC this move will either totally backfire or else it will remind the rest of the squad they aren’t invincible.

On the flip side there are a lot of * beside that squad, Kilduff, Zayed, Quigley all have beef with TC, Russell and Shep haven’t actually signed yet, SOCCY and McCabe are two of the most volatile and hideous individuals in the league, we all know how shit Kenna is now that he has left us (joke), McGuinness and Russell both missed more games than they played last year and Byrne is a very young player in a cauldron – oh…and TC is a shit manager and the fans are baying for blood!

Gas isn't it. The dickhead didn't mind taking our players, or at least getting in their heads, before the FAI Cup final last, and he has the cheek to not want players at his club but would pay them hefty wages just to stop us getting them? What a cunt. Think that's why he signed Zayed, to stop SRFC getting him. Amazing how far they've sunk.
