    FAI Debt

    http://www.herald.ie/news/fai-gets-m...-29333619.html

Interesting piece on the FAI struggling to fund their payments for the Aviva. Even the FAI aren't immune from the financial crisis in Irish football,it makes john delaneys wages seem even more ridiculous. rumours going around that Salthill could drop out during the break aswell.

That's all on Delaney's head. The IRFU had no such trouble because they got out and got the tickets sold before the crash. The FAI arsed around and missed the boat. Think they were messing around with some third party agent while the IRFU just got out and did the job. Unfortunately the FAI are miles behind the IRFU in terms of organisation and cop on and that can be seen on the pitch and also off it in terms of the support it gets. You know there is something wrong when the most popular sport in the world by a distance comes in fourth behind GAA, Hurling and Rugby, sports which are very much minority sports and only played seriously in a handful of countries.

The stand down in Carrick on Shannon is brilliant aswell it would look brilliant on the camac side the money involved in doing up those ground is huge the stand in leitrim cost €1.7 million, Loi clubs can only dream of spending that kind of money on their grounds.

During the break? hadn't heard anything like that. They're in big trouble though.

Defo won't be waterford. They've just signed 3 players including a lad on loan from Dundee united

How have they managed that? Are they not an amateur team?

The rumor I heard was salthill and mervue dropping out at the end of the season, with wexford looking dodgy for next year aswell, if the salthill pullout has been brought forward it will make that division completely unviable next term.Im suprised cobh came back in, the numbers dont add up for a lot of clubs between league membership, insurance, players expenses and travel costs.
