I'm amazed United managed to complete all these signings with the tens of thousands of anti-Glazer protestors blocking access to Old Trafford to ensure the club's evil hierarchy didn't push them any further into debt.
We are at war with Eurasia. We've always been at war with Eurasia.
What a great stat.
37 games between Kenny-managed teams and Fenlon-managed teams. And Fenlon has won.... how many would you say?
http://www.independent.ie/sport/socc...-30601562.html
Good stat that. I think we have a fear of Fenlon's teams due to the years of losing to them when Johnny was manager as there was definitely an inferiority complex there (also he generally had the best team in the league then). I don't think Liam will have any fear of Fenlon as he'll be confident that if we play well and the ref doesn't make a balls of it, we should come out on top.
Not really off topic but good to see Raheny using Richmond for the Women's Champions League game against Bristol
Thursday October 9th
At least someone gets to play Champions League football in Richmond this year
"We've seen you come, we'll see you go"
If the Raheny girls progress, they play the winners of the Slavia v Barca tie in the next round
I'm announcing this Raheny game tomorrow. Hoping with it being an Irish team playing an English team, the names won't be as hard to pronounce as the last game I did in Richmond that didn't involve Pat's.

Raheny 12/1 are Bristol that good.Might head down have a look.
Raheny keeper played super. That Bristol team is semi-pro. Fitness levels told in the last 20 minutes. Raheny just fell apart. 4-0 was harsh. A peno, and a counter in stoppage time sealed it for Bristol.
Was down in Richmond taking photos of the Raheny game, not a bad crowd either, about 1200. Raheny played well but Bristols fitness got them through. And i agree, 4-0 was harsh but best player was the Raheny keeper who made a couple world class saves.

WWS - Remembered Always
Watch it online very harsh Scoreline, great crowd at the game.
But its not real football![]()
I went to Real Valladolid vs Real Betis last week. One thing I´ve noticed about games in Spain is that almost everyone wears the jersey. But also they all abuse their own players when they make even the smallest mistakes. They should rename the stand the El Camaco. Some good football on show though as both teams were in the top tier last season.
Away to Numancia this Sunday.

Anyone want to explain these to me. Apparently Rovers lost 400k last year.

"We've seen you come, we'll see you go"
I am not an accountant Dodge. But I don't think the accounts are saying SRFC lost 400K.
As I read it.
There are two company parts to SRFC. SRFC Members (supporters investment company and parent company). SRFC Limited (Football club and child company).
Membership fees to SRFC members is down 10% or 22K to 205K
SRFC Ltd. lost 265K in 2013.
To offset and most likely to ensure SRFC met FAI licensing for 2014 SRFC Members Co invested 374K in SRFC in 2013.
This meant SRFC had 100K to start with at the beginning of 2014.
By investing 374K in 2013 meant the SRFC Members co lost 174K in 2013 versus a surplus of 189K in 2012. Almost a 100% turnaround on the previous year.
SRFC Memebers Co cash balance was down 50% to 221K at the end of 2013 versus 396 at the start that had been accumulated over previous seasons.
Their expensive squad coupled with failure to get Europe this year, setting up of the B team, paying off Croly and his backroom staff and hiring Fenlon and his backroom staff is likely to have depleted this further again this year. If we don't win the cup this is likely to put them in a worse financial position in 2015, assuming they keep the B team and continue with the policy of the huge expensive squad.
If is likely that Mr. Roche and the other directors of SRFC members company would come under a lot of pressure if the member funds was to decrease by another 185K at the start of this season. I think I read SRFC Members Co gives you 1 share for each 3K you invest. The shares are worth €1. It seems a bit mad to spend €3000 on something that is worth €1 but there you go.

They are abridged accounts too so allowed not to go into detail.
Ours are far far worse.
I've heard all of Rovers european money from the group stages are gone. They are in a pretty bad way in comparison to 2012. I'm sure our accounts are awful too but considering we won the league and have had pretty substantial prize money from Europe for 4 of the last 5 years I think we're ok.
Plus we have Special K.
We've made a profit the last 2 years apparently

From a quick glance it looks like the Trust lost 173k - taking in 202k but giving 375k to the club. The club's account show a loss of €265k. This would have to be after receiving the income from the Trust so the overall loss looks to be €438k.
I'm not sure I'd agree that they are necessarily a lot worse off in 214 than 2013.
They got rid of a lot of big earners at the end of last year. They have lads like Boccer and Dean Kelly in the first team squad this year and didn't throw the cash around last preseason so I'd say their wage bill might be well down. Their crowds are probably down as well though but possibly not to the same extent. The other thing that will stop them losing big money in 2014 is cash flow. Bohs, Shels, Drogheda, and ourselves all made big losses because there were banks/property deals funding them. It's much harder to make big losses now as you just run out of cash. They've spent their Europe League money now and cleaned out the Trust so will have to make do on their income going forward. Fenlon is the wrong man to have in charge in those circumstances.
The B team would be an added expense this year (off set somewhat by losing the women's team). No dount they reigned in the wages spending a little though
