For me Liverpool are just the same as Dundalk last year, they do have momentum and they are playing well but once they lose one (which they will) it will all fall apart. I reckon they'll end up finishing 3rd at least 6 points off the eventual winners.
And Brian Kerr is in tears.

    Could well be right.

The big test is when they go behind in a big game and how they react. But having Chelsea, City, Newcastle at home is a massive plus.

Also Norwich away, West Ham away, Crystal Palance away are all very winnable.

I reckon they will pick up 14 points from them. Prob not enough to win it, but they'll go close.

I think Chelsea are fragile at the minute and they are still in the Champions League. One more draw or defeat and I reckon they'll give up on the League and focus on Europe. Liverpool's home game against City is what I think will decide the League and I'd say it could go either way. I would have fancied City a few weeks ago but with Negredo and Aguero out of sorts I think they won't find it as easy to score. Liverpool's defence is also looking a bit more solid. They've kept a lot of clean sheets lately and having Skrtel and Agger together at least means Toure is not in there. Also Gerrard seems to have got his head around what he is supposed to be doing in his role and they look a bit tighter because of this. Having said that you would still be worried that they are capable of losing to West Ham but the way they are blowing teams away in the first twenty minutes makes this a bit less likely than other years. Best title race in donkey's years all the same and I wouldn't normally bother too much with the Premiership.

The only different is the ball that's been played. The Spanish league is of a higher standard of football.

Loved the Killian Brennan 'cheeky bastard penalties' remark. Cant really argue with most of them. Would Roddy get the nod as manager?

I hate Stephen Rice so much I'm actually annoyed he's in the starting 11
And Brian Kerr is in tears.

Defo but I think I've had a pop at Roddy in everything I've written for balls this season so wanted to leave him out...

I know it would be biased of us to say Croly as manager, but the way he left us didn't go unnoticed by other clubs in the league.

Wanted to ask someone who might know better as well, is there any truth in the rumour that Sky Sports approached the FAI about showing League of Ireland games before they sorted something out with the GAA, and were turned down? Mad if true, likely it's not.

Finally Bayern lost this season, away to Augsburg 1-0. They had 4 players from the U19s starting that I've never heard off. Mad that they won the league in March

Excerpts from Pirlo's autobiography on the Champions League Final in Istanbul against Liverpool. I think we can take it he took it bad.

"I’ll never watch that match again. I’ve already played it once in person and many other times in my head, searching for an explanation that perhaps doesn’t even exist."

"It was suggested we hang a black funeral pall as a permanent reminder on the walls of Milanello, right next to the images of triumph. A message to future generations that feeling invincible is the first step on the path to the point of no return."

“Personally, I’d add that horrendous result to the club’s honours board. I’d write it slap bang in the middle of the list of leagues and cups they’ve won, in a different coloured ink and perhaps a special font, just to underline its jarring presence."

“I thought about quitting because, after Istanbul, nothing made sense any more. The 2005 Champions League final simply suffocated me."

“To most people’s minds, the reason we lost on penalties was Jerzy Dudek – that jackass of a dancer who took the mickey out of us by swaying about on his line and then rubbed salt into the wound by saving our spot kicks."

“I could hardly sleep and even when I did drop off, I awoke to a grim thought: I’m disgusting. I can’t play any more. I went to bed with Dudek and all his Liverpool team-mates."

“I’ll never fully shake that sense of absolute impotence when destiny is at work. The feeling will cling to my feet forever, trying to pull me down…"

“There are always lessons to be found in the darkest moments. It’s a moral obligation to dig deep and find that little glimmer of hope or pearl of wisdom."

“You might hit upon an elegant phrase that stays with you and makes the journey that little bit less bitter. I’ve tried with Istanbul and haven’t managed to get beyond these words: "For fcuk’s sake"".
We are at war with Eurasia. We've always been at war with Eurasia.

Last one I read was "I am Zlatan", excellent in that it wasn't a usual mundane monotonous footballers tale, but if you dislike him now you'll want to kick lumps out of him when you read it.

Heard good things about Pirlo's book and that excerpt is excellent.

Stephen O'Donnell out for the rest of the season for Dundalk, huge loss for them, may as well give us the trophy now (well technically just let us keep it but you know what I mean.)
And Brian Kerr is in tears.

Also Barnsley and Charlton are interested in signing Towell in the summer apparently so hopefully they lose him
And maybe a chance for a second... AND IT IS! IT'S ALL OVER! PATS HAVE WON THE CUP!

That was a great performance from Real Madrid. Bayern were very poor aswell, played too slowly and played into Madrid's hands by going Gung-Ho from the start. They were only 1-0 down from the first leg, they should have started off defensively making sure not to concede and then gone for it second half

It's very important to be still in the tie with 10 minutes to go, That's when you see teams dropping back and nerves begin to play a bigger part, classic Pats example v Elfsborg.

O'Donnell injury not as bad as first feared.

His surgery went well, wonder how long he'll be out for now?
