Not surprised to see Dundalk struggle tonight. We knocked all the momentum out of them last week just like we did when we stopped Sligo's run. I've been more worried about Sligo but we have a good lead on them. Dundalk lose tonight and winning our next two games would win us the league.

Just realised with Derry losing on Friday that we qualified for Europe next season with 4 games to go compared to the last day of the season last year, Sligo winning the cup final in 2011 and the demise of Bucko's Fingal the season before

At last weeks Prague derby the match was stopped 3 times by the ref due to Sparta fans throwing things (bottles, flares, coins, etc) at Slavia players, ref was going to abandon the game at one point but the Sparta captain went to away section to try calm them down. Then hundreds of them come onto the pitch while Slavia players are still there looking to cause riots. The result, Slavia get fined 200,000kc (around 8000 euro) and the threat of matches behind closed doors. Sparta got a warning! Same thing happens every time we are at home to these scumbags! Ain't football fucked up sometimes

Meenan was a clear red. Shields got the ball - TV replay totally conclusive - so it was neither a red or a penalty. Dundalk were robbed but them's the breaks.

It's a shame, though, a Sligo-Dundalk final would have been the next best thing at the Aviva to us being in it.

Fingers crossed that Sligo do the business, another Shams-Drogs final doesn't bear thinking about.

Agree with you re Meenans, red all day: Dont think that TV was conclusive if you look at the tackle Shiels did get the ball but after he played the man. Hard call either way but agree it was not a red as it wasent an OBVIOUS goal scoring opportunity, but as you say thems the breaks happend to us in Dundalk when Killer was red carded.
