    Matchnight Music

Nothing major. Just if anyone has any requests throw them up here and I'll do my best to get them on for you.
Have to do it early-ish as I got stung with the three strikes on Eircom and have to get my tunes on dial-up speed college WiFi now instead.

Also a debate has risen up (mainly among SEI people) about goal music. What is the consensus on it? Yes or No? Seemingly it's pretty much split down the middle.

When we score against rovers I'd love a song that has the words
' up your bollix crolly ' in it

Music after a goal will probably be hated by moany old cunts in the ground but kids will enjoy it especially 1st timers

No cars go vs the pigs when the players come onto the pitch would be epic.

For me Im against the music as the teams come out, want to hear the fans sing and not be drowned out by something that sounds like Ric Flairs entrance music. Like the video of the entrance of the Odense game in 2007,the noise was unreal!
After goal music can gtf too, should be banned by FIFA aswel,as long as it stays away from Richer Im happy!!

Pre game music should be Radio Nova in the mornings between 7 and 9am!

I'm in the no camp myself to be honest. But a good few people were asking me towards the end of last season why we didn't have it. So I gave Insomnia a blast after we scored against Cork and some people loved it, some hated it. Just said I'd ask.

As for the Ric Flair entrance music. It's not played when the big games come around, the likes of Rovers and Sligo where it would be redundant to put it on because you wouldn't hear it. It's played during the likes of UCD, Bray and Dundalk where you can't really hear anything other than applause when the players walk out. It's just to add something extra when there aren't many people singing and that. Plus the track is the exact length it takes the players to get from the tunnel to their places at the centre circle.

Have to disagree. It is played in every game,be it Rovers or UCD and its too loud. Drowns out the atmosphere at the start, regardless of the game. You could hear the SEI when the teams enter even in the 'smaller' games if that music wasnt played.Just my opinion anyway!

I think we should play more of the Script, especially after goals. Cos they're from D8. We're from D8, just makes sense yeno?
Danny used to come down the games before they got huge too. Sound lads who appreciate LOI ball.

    No chance.

Well maybe some classical music. Some Beethoven would go down a treat.

Until Richmond Park has a proper PA, the point is irrelevant imo. After goal music would be fine since those of us on the Camac side won't be able to hear it anyway.
Yes traditionalists would be against it but anyone on this forum is already converted. Agree with previous posts that it's the yougsters we're trying to convert so it's a great idea. It's only for, like 5 seconds, ffs!? The SEI can start belting out the songs straight after it, it'll take them that length to stop hugging and belting each other anyway.
In terms of pre match, yes good idea, if it's music that's going to put you in the mood but again coz of the current PA, it's far too loud in the stand and cant be heard anywhere else.
Any idea the cost of a new PA?

I'm always being told the opposite. It's 2-3 times louder on the camac and quieter in the stand.

A new PA for a club pub band is anything between €1500-€4000 for a decent one. For a stadium, even a small one like Richmond you're talking much more. Probably rightly way down on the list of the club's priorities. Only one of the drives properly plays CD's too. Other one is very temperamental and often cuts out mid-song.

I was taking the piss, believe me. I agree, Script are dirt.
I also am vehemently opposed to music after goals, ruins the celebration. For me anyway, when we score I wanna go a bit mad and hug some randomer beside me and scream like a mad thing. Not listen to some music.

I was a kid once, and I didn't care about after goal music then either. Not sure why people assume kids want it now. Anyone ask them? There's loads of reason why they mightn't come back. I'd say lack of after goal music isn't one of them

Pre match and half time music is grand. Music as the teams come out is a good idea too IMO.

But there's loads of reasons why they might come back and singing for five or six seconds after a goal is scored with maybe a big red foam hand in the air just might be one of them.
In the 'who let the dogs out?' days of the late 90s, kids were asked and the kids were alright. Maybe kids are different now.

Someone's idea of a compilation of the 'best' goaltunes.
Twente have stolen our song! Is there a connection with them and 'Saints'? The mind boggles.
Levante's stadium DJ is obviously originally from the Core and frequented Richer in the late 90s.
    But Wolfsburg? W... T..... F....?

But when I hear Dortmund's.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUbbxBTT2T0 ...... I can't help think of the Pet Shop Boys..... are we metrosexual enough for that to work in Inchicore???

    And surely this isn't Hannover's???? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSYQosbVioA

that song always reminds me of beating Shels 4-1 in richmond years ago, not a fan of after goal music the WLTDO was a novelty for a while then it just got irritating.
