In fairness to the manager, there were a lot of players there who had won titles and maybe didn't have the hunger anymore. He lost Manus, Stephens, Sheppard and Murray. Killduff has been injuired for most of the season. Under those circumstances it was going to take a while to get things going again. I know he made some funny signings (Colin Hawkins being one). But Kenny won a league at Bohs and was unlucky not to do the same at Derry. At the very minimum he deserved a full season to try and turn things around. Anyway I wish Stephen well.

If that was the case, they'd've done it after Bohs humiliated them 4-0 in Dalymount during the summer. A lot of hoops lost the plot over that one, whereas reactions to the defeat the other night came in nearer to the "Not more of this shit" mark.

If they were really gonna do the popular thing, they'd've just buried Kenny in one of the goalmouths in Tallaght. After all, that's pretty much what Kenny did to their hopes of three-in-a-row.

He made a bollix of a great opportunity same as he did in Scotland. No matter who left the club he still had one of the best squads in the country and should in no way be 13 points behind Sligo and more so 7 behind Drogheda. He managed fans expectations and the teams egos very poorly and at a club like Rovers that is a crucial part of the job.

I thought it was a very underwhelming appointment and I was delighted when I heard it back late last year as these were in a great position to dominate and put many titles on the board over the next few years (still are but as robbo predicts this could very well be a posion chalice).

What we (saints) do between now and the start of next season could very well keep them in thier place for the next couple of season as well.

Would agree with Gaz about it being done as it's the popular decision. It's the reason I don't think fan run clubs are the way forward at all. They're all too worried trying to keep their place on the board and none of them will have the balls to stand up and go against the fans and make the tough calls. They'll have a board of yes men always going on what the bandwagoners call for.

The Saints have been keeping them in their place regardless. Finished above them in the league 7 out of the last 10 years if this year says the same. Better European record too. Other then that I wouldn't get too hung up on it. We all know with the way the LOI is we could catch Sligo and win the league and cup double this year and then next year finish fourth from bottom and get knocked out of the cup in the first round by Ballybackbog United. All you can do is enjoy the good times like this season but not get used to them or expect them every season or you'll end up like those scummy know-nothing bandwagoners.

Definitely a major factor. I know a few Rovers fans who have been calling for Roaches head and Mein Fuhrer wont like that.
And Brian Kerr is in tears.

Great thing about stats is you can manipulate them to suit your arguement. Rovers fans will argue that they have 2 league titles and a Setanta cup (maybe a league cup as well?) more than us in that very same period of Pats domination over them.

Then you just explain to them that they're the new Bohs and those league titles were their Fenlon titles and they're now on the way down too and watch them crack up.

They reckon they've a shot at getting Roy Keane or Ruud Gullit.
Admittedly there was only one fella who said this but he thought Harry Redknapp would come and manage them.

That's probably waffle but 'Roche chases Dicks' would make a great headline.

Younger Saints probably don't remember him at Sligo. Suffice to say he was the biggest cunt, with the most horrible team, you'll ever see in the league. Disgusting from top to bottom

I still despise him and love whn he fails with various English clubs

Remember they almost needed a Garda escort off the pitch at Richmond one night in the 95/96 season. Did nothing but kick us off the pitch all night - broke Mark Mulreany's leg and got Gormley stretchered off too. Andy Ramage was Cunt in Chief but Gilzean was a filthy bastard when playing for them too. Shower of fucking animals they were.
