Think they're threading very carefully with BE casting. Great performances all round but no huge names; the guy who plays Rosseti is first rate, as is the guy from A Serious Man. if it's not broken...

I've been re-watching Sopranos for a few months. I'm on season 5, whe Tony B has just been released from prison. Bit of a head fuck watching that and Boardwalk back-to-back.

yeah true, all the "smaller" actors are still great. I love Stephen Graham in it, Al Capone. Great accent for a Scouser.

Yeah, forgot about him. There are so many secondary characters that there could be 2 or 3 episodes in between a certain actor appearing. It's also probably one of the more difficult roles in the show too, given that pretty much everyone will have a predertmined idea of what Capone is like.

Pulls it off well anyway, the scene where his mate gets beaten up and he goes to the bar for revenge.. Heavy stuff.

Love Van Alden the on the run fbi agent. One of my favourite characters on tele. there's a film coming out about Richard Kukliski the psycho serial killer (brilliant book btw). He's after been cast to play him. Really can't wait for that.

He's in a movie called Take Shelter about a guy realising he's suffering from schizophrenia. Definitely worth a watch.

Lincoln and the Hobbit will clean up a the oscars I'd say. They love true stories so Lincoln to get Best picture / director and actor anyway.

Just on yer man Val Allen from Boardwalk Empire. I watched a film last night, Premium Rush or some bollocks. The movie itself wasn't great or anything, but he plays a dodgy/rogue NYPD detective in it. He's quality in it!

I think it shows how good an actor he is that in BE he's just this really strict, rigid, boring guy with hardly any emotion. But in Premium Rush he made me laugh a good bit. Great actor. Less then great film though.

Yeah, agree pal. Favourite part is when he's chasing him in the car and he starts laughing to himself and goes "heh, I'm chasing a fucking bike" or something.

Taken 2 watchable if drunk, its pretty much taken 1 in a different place.

22 Bullets pretty good but few bits made no sense, why frame Jean Reno when he totally going to kill your ass??

Cloud Atlas ummm Southland Tales meets The Fountain but made by the Matrix lads, i have to watch it again tbh.

Watched the original "The Girl with/The Girl who..." trilogy (the swedish language ones), very enjoyable I thought, but I don't see how Hollywood will be able to make the other two, considering how they butchered the first one.
    Also:
Safe House - See Jim's comment above
The Hurt Locker - Good watch
ParaNorman - OK-ish for the kids, bit weak for the adults though.
    Brave - Enjoyable
    Bourne Legacy - Enjoyable
Ted - Best bits are in the ads, very weak considering.
Cosmopolis - Awful, avoid at all costs

Hobbit is pretty good, hate having to wait for the next one tho.

Weird how it plays out in relation to the timeline of the book. But its a movie and not a book

See its not 3 films each with a 12 month gap. The second is out next december then the 3rd is the following summer.

I thought it was good. Wasnt mad on LOTR but enjoyed this. Gandalf made it i thought. Gollum is a scary fucker on the big screen too.
