    Aintree Grand National Day

Well its the big one tomorrow. 40 runners, 30 fences, 4m4f yes its the Aintree Grand National.

Current favourite is Synchronised the gold cup winner. Potentially well handicapped he is the class horse of the race and should stay. The main negative is his jumping which can be scratchy at times and prevents him from getting into a good rhythm which is vital at Aintree. At his current price 9/1 with PP is just a little too short for me and I dont think his jumping is good enough.

Ballabriggs last year winner is next in the list. Positive is that he has jumped round here before and ran well on his comeback. Negative is his weight dont think he is that well handicapped this year.

Chicago Grey.Positives should stay, good prep run and decent prep runs. Good jockey on board at Aintree too. Negatives- Has jumped poorly a few times and is a hold up horse which needs a large slice of luck to get around unhinded.

Shakalakaboomboom. Positives- Improved form this year, decent weight. Negatives Didnt jump particularly great over these fences last year, Slight stamina doubts.

West End Rocker. Positives- has won over these fences, decent weight, can act on soft ground ,should stay. Negatives- Can throw in some awful runs, Lack of race since December.

On His Own. Positives- Very good run last time out, Unexposed, acts on soft ground, Ruby Walsh's choice. Negatives- Lacks expereince.

Cappa Bleu. Positives- Acts on ground, Somewhat unexposed. Negatives- Is too short a price currently, Dont think he has enough ability to win.

Sunnyhillboy. Positives-Will stay, Won at Cheltenham, Good Weight. Negatives- Jumping is not great.

Junior. Positives- Classy horse, Good prep run. Negatives- Jumping Doubts, not sure about stamina.

. Positives- Will stay, should have no ground worries, good weight.
Negatives- Jumping has fallen a few times.

Killyglen Positives- Good prep run, has proven that he can jump these fences. Negatives- Fell last year after running well. Quite a short price.

Becauseicouldntsee. Positives- Will stay, Low weight. Negatives- Jumping issues, Fell early in race last year. Quite a short price.

Gilies Cross. Positives- Should stay, Decent recent record, well-handicapped. Negatives- Is ground soft enough? Doesnt always finish out his races.

Seabass. Positives- Great recent record. Decent jumping. Negatives- Stamina doubts.

Treacle. Positives- Decent recent run. Should stay. Negatives- Age, Is he good enough?

Planet of Sound. Positives- Should handle ground, classy horse at his best. Negatives-Stamina doubts, A little high in the weights.

Always Right. Positives- Will stay. Negatives- Poor recent runs.

Neptune Collonges. Positives- Classy horse at his best, Good chance he will stay. Negatives- Jumping can be dodge, Age is older than ideal.

According to Pete. Positives- Good recent form, will stay, jumps fairly well. Negatives- Ground needs quite soft ground.

Rare Bob. Positives- Might stay. Negatives- poor recent form.

The Midnight Club. Positives- Finished 6th last year. Lower in weights. Negatives- Didnt jump well enough last year, poor recent form.

Quiscover Fontaine. Positives- Decent weight, Negatives- Probably isnt good enough.

Calgary Bay. Positives- Good recent form. Negatives- fell early last year, not particularly well handicapped.

Black Apalachi. Positives- 2nd two years ago, decent comeback run. Negatives- Age is too old.

Weird Al- Positives- Classy horse. Negatives- Poor recent runs.

Alfa Beat- Fell in Topham last year, Didnt seem to stay 4m.

Mon Mome. 09 Winner. Poor recent form, fell in 2010 running.

State of Play. Decent national record. hasnt been seen since last years national, while he has run well in 3 nationals never seemed likely to actually win it.

Vic Venturi. has won over Aintree fences. Class and stamina doubts. Also has fallen twice in the National

Midnight Haze. Should stay. Dont think he is classy enough to win. Decent place outsider.

Deep Purple. Classy horse at best. Should stay. Has slightly dodge record recently.
    Decent outsider.

Arbor Supreme. Fallen twice in the national. Poor recent for,

    Hello Bud. Too old.

    Swing Bill. Wont stay.

Neptune Equester. Poor recent form. Isnt classy enough.

Viking Blond. Too inexpereinced. Poor recent form.

    Tatenen. Wont stay.

Postmaster. Not good enough. Fell at first in topham last year.

In Compliance. Not Good enough. Stamina doubts.

Tharawatt. Not good enough. Stamina Doubts.

I am a big On His Own fan and think he should run a big race. he jumps well, should stay and well handle the ground. Main threats are West End Rocker, Ballabriggs and Planet Of Sound. According To Pete is of more interest if there is more rain at Aintree. 2 decent outside for place purpose are Midnight Haze and Deep Purple.
