Paddy has a handicap market up. I think Cork are the value there (all teams 17/2)

    Shamrock Rovers - 0
    Sligo +8
    Pat's +13
    Derry +14
    Cork +25
    Shels +26
    Bohs +31
    Dundalk +32
    Drogheda +36
    UCD +40
    Monaghan +50
    Bray +50

    --

For these weekend I think under 2.5 goals in our game at 11/10 is the bet. Realise bray are atrocious defensively but we're without Fagan and we struggled anyway

You can get 8/13 on derry winning elsewhere. Thats a great bet IMO

Yo will have to explain this to me. So if I was to say put €20 on Sligo they would have to finish ahead of everyone else and finish less than 8 points behind Rovers for me to win the bet??
And Brian Kerr is in tears.

Nope, at the end of the season every team will have the above points added to them and then you'll know your winner.

So say they actual top 5 is

    1 Rovers 75
    2 Sligo 70
    3 pats 69
    4 Cork 64
    5 Derry 59

The handicap top 5 would be
    1 Cork 89 (64 + 25)
    2 Pats 82 (69 + 13)
    3 Sligo 78 (70 + 8)
    4 Rovers 75 (75 + 0)
    5 Derry 73 (59 + 14)

The way I like to think of it is whats listed above is the points all the teams start with on day 1.

Ah I see. That's much more fun than just betting on outright winner

Have decided I'm backing Pats and Rovers both at -1 tomorrow.

    Works out about 3/1

In his LOI preview in the Racing Post this morning, Johnny Ward declared an each way bet on us to win the league at 14/1 as his value punt for the season.

For the First Division angle Ward handed over to Paddy Power's Julian Canny. All perfectly fine and they're as well qualified to comment as anybody but for anybody that knows them it's gas - pair of Galway United supporting mates getting paid to do the same thing they did for free on Johnny's site about 12 years ago!

Did you watch the RTE programme where 3 lads 'fought' for a job with paddy power? Johnny and JC were 2 of the 3 (JC winning obviously). Good lads too

Johnny does a fair bit of racing stuff too for various publications/sites (and RTE telly)

Bwin have us 17/11 to win in dundalk.
Hills have Limerick 4/6 to beat Waterford

I'm thinking of getting a short term loan

    Limerick, Pats plus:

Cork - have to bounce back from last week. Home to Drogs who are nowhere near as good as last week's scoreline suggests

Wexford - blew Waterford away last week. Away to SD Galway who lost to Athlone.

Will pay over 12-1 if it comes off. Worth a punt, I reckon.

If Wexford had lost to Waterford last weekend, Salthill would most likely be favourites for this weekend's game. Salthill have added players from Mervue and Galway to their squad for this season, pretty much all of Wexford's defensive line (goalie included) are new for the season and from non-league teams (if FC Carlow is regarded as non-league). Personally think Wexford are grossly over priced on the back of one result and the value is with Salthill.

    Limerick are 8/5 minus 1 and 4/1 minus 2

some fancy prices on 5,6,7 nil as well worth small stakes.
