Have had enough of Trap tbh. Too many good players out in the cold and too much baggage. He did a superb job but its time move on.

They are all as bad as each other for me. He talked Gibson out of staying at utd to improve his career and he's flying at Everton. Then he throws a wobbler and sulks cause he didn't get a run in the Euros.

Big shower of oulwans the lot of them.

I work for Italians and they are a mad shower of cunts but jaysus.

Evidence goes against his statement. Committed blah blah blah.

If somebody comes out with the statement he did but was throwing the toys out of the pram 6 months ago there's something at odds.

If your THAT proud to represent your country nothing should get in the way of it.

Not taking traps side here at all. I just think they are all a shower of big girls. There's millions of people work for mad cunts but just get on with it.

Kelly thought he should start, Trap told him why he wasn't and Kelly wasn't happy. What did he do that was wrong? Loads of players think they should be playing when they're on the bench.

Next game up he's not picked and then the manager lies (according to KellY) about him.

I honestly can't see what Kelly has done wrong here

So you think the stuff that went on before the Fareos game is rational? I have no insider info but the papers were fairly unanimous Kelly was in a stew as he didn't get a run vs Germany.

Now I've no doubt a bit of diplomacy would have went a long way but its not unreasonable to assume Kelly DID demand game time at some stage and trap hung him in public.

If a child was dropped the right thing to do is keep your head down and work harder. Don't see how it should be different for a Pro tbh.

    Do you think

    A) Trap made the whole thing up?

    B) There's an element of truth in his statement?

Something happened after the Germany game of that there is no doubt so I can't see how Kelly can claim he's 100% dedicated to the cause. as I say either way, Big shower of girls.

None of those articles have a shred of fact in them. Pretty easy to spot a story the journo knows is bollox. 'reports suggest' 'its understood' etc

Trap himself gave his version of what was said today. Look it up. Nowhere near them articles

My attitude towards Trap soured during the WC 2010 qualifiers, mostly because of the playing style but also because of his arrogance in dealing with the players, especially how he spoke about them in public, all the while bemoaning his lack of options as he himself narrowed the pool he could choose from.

But after the win against Poland, I think we've really turned a corner, and Trap has conclusively disproved Einstein's theory of insanity - doing the same thing over and over again will, in fact, produce different results.

And it's not just Stephen Kelly. If, Steven Reid, Marc Wilson, Andy Reid, Stephen Ireland, James McCarthy, Shane Long, Shay Given, Joey O'Brien, Ian Harte, Darron Gibson, or Kevin Foley can't even be bothered to learn some basic Italian to avoid these breakdowns in communication, then you have to question whether or not they want to play for their country in the first place.

So if we are to take traps work as gospel then there's no argument. Kelly did say he played or went home.

Well it boils down to Kelly calling trap a liar.

Seems to me the manly thing to do would have been to confront trap. Not run to the papers.

As usual in these situations the truth is somewhere in the middle.

    Again. Big shower of girls.

Trap said in public, Kelly wasn't committed to Ireland. Kelly responded in public to the allegation to defend his name.

You know i'm a fan of Trap but he's had made too many enemies and it can't all be the players fault. His man management is awful

Don't doubt that for a minute. And I'd say Big jack was exactly the same but as he says in the interview your called for your country you come without hesitation.

He's asking them to play for the country and jersey not for him. This is not club football where you can move. Your country is your country. Jack fucked out Dave O Leary for exactly the same thing,

    Up the Ra!

Last time he went to trap was the Faroes, and you were calling that irrational about 10 minutes ago.

Quite the opposite, I was led to believe by media reports Trap acted as peace maker to get Kelly to the Fareos but that seems in doubt now.

saintly was saying there's a different version but I can't seem find it anywhere.

Neil O'Riordan tweeted Trapatoni's comments on Kelly early. Basically said Kelly wanted to know would he start. Trap said Coleman would as they wanted more going forward. And that was that

Then all week he's been talking about agents and what not

Then he said Kelly either plays or didnt' turn up

Its at least odd stuff from him.

    First signs of FAI unrest?

“Giovanni Trapattoni is a great manager,” a spokesman said, “and he has achieved a lot, but the association would prefer if team matters like the one before the Faroe Islands match, which was reported yesterday, were dealt with in private.”

alot of this stuff starts with your treatment of team mates.

Trappatoni's behaviour has been off on numerous times, not least his treatment of Kevin Foley pre euro 2012.

Look at the team of players Trap has fallen out with- some deserved it, but at times his comments have been really odd.

    Dean Kiely
    Kevin Foley
    Stephen Kelly
    Wilson
    Harte
    Stephen Reid
    McCarthy
    Gibson
    Ireland
    Andy REid
    Long

His player management is very poor.

A good case in point is Darren Gibson who got in a strop (and told trap to mind hsi own business) because Trap said he should leave UTD and play regularly...which eh then did 6 months later (to his benefit), gibson got called up for the euros and then trap didnt give him a minute on the pitch and now Gibson is on self imposed exile.

all so strange and both parties at fault.

Unfortunately Trap has been his own worst enemy, but in most situations the ego's of the modern footballers are very much alive, with many of them treating Ireland as an a la carte option of appearing when it suits them. Admittedly S Kelly is not one of those!

Given traps poor English i think he would have struggled to convince even the pilot to get on the plane without confusion.

Doyle's been awful all year in The Championship, as have Wolves though, tbf. Amazed he missed out on the Irish squad though, as he usually gives his all.

Yeah agree. But, form wise, this year, in the Championship, them three have probably been better than Doyle.
