I heard Cox is set to start in goal against Germany. If we don't beat Kazakhstan there's something wrong.

According to all the barstool managers, even if we do beat Kazakhstan there is still something wrong

Really hope we start with a win, can't see us qualifying but it would be nice to give it a go!

    Anyone else watching online

    http://www.thefirstrow.eu/watch/1393...s-ireland.html

American commentator and he's awful. Worst commentator I've ever heard. I'd rather listen to the two Dundalk FM lads on my MP3 for a day.

Awful performance and terrible to watch: The team needs to be rebuilt during this campaign. Traps way of playing is defunct and we need to get a new manager with a view to developing a team. Its unlikely that he will resign and the FAI cant afford to sack him so looks like we are stuck with what we have. Very hard to understand his team selections and tonight was an example of this. There are players who should be given a chance within a new system ( Clark/Coleman/Fahey/Brady) to name just 4. Rant over.

Lucky as fuck tonight. Trap was let off the hook. He'll live to fight another day.

We were dirt, highly doubt we will qualify tbh. Cox instead of McClean? McGeady playing despite the fact he is shite? Trapp is officially cenile now.

It'll never happen in a month of Sundays but now is the perfect time to give one or two of the LOI lads a look into the squad. We bombed in front of the world at the Euros and no one expects us to qualify for the World Cup ahead of Sweden and Germany and maybe even Austria.

Even just a call up if not an appearance for the likes of Danny North (when he's back fit), Ronan Finn, Russell or even Griffin, the people shining in the league. Trap is already playing an out and out striker on the wing. I can understand the premiership and La Liga brigade disregarding the LOI players, the league as a product is badly sold. We've all talked this to death a million times over... ticket prices, facilities, unevenly spread clubs... same old same old. But the Ireland set-up should know better.

Paul Corry hasn't suddenly become an unreal player overnight. He signed for Sheffield Wednesday from a club that's been bottom of the league for most of the season. James McClean didn't become the player he is overnight. Fats played as good with us as he does with Birmingham in my opinion. Barely any of the team play in the top divisions in the world anyway. Darren O'Dea plays in Canada like. Most of them play in the Championship at best.

I'm not saying for a second that our league is on par with the Championship but it's not as far off as it's made out to be (only in footballing terms).
It just annoys me that LOI lads can't get a look in whilst playing in Ireland but 6 months later after making a move to a nobody club in England suddenly they're good enough for Ireland.

They've nothing to lose by trying out some homegrown talent still in the country. At least then people will say that they're trying something new. As an Ireland season ticket holder I'll delightedly put my hands up if I'm wrong but I don't think Trap is going to get us anywhere near these World Cup finals.

Aside from him never being fit in a month of Sundays, he's English, probably a bigger stumbling block to him being called into the Ireland squad

starting to doubt trap now and iv backed him a fair bit! i don't really mind if we don't play a lovely style of football because i don't think we would get results playing it against the top teams and that's just the way it is! out off all the players people mention to bring in would get torn apart trying to attack any team ranked above US. last night i hadn't a clue what was going on it was terrible but ya now have people hoping we get bashed by Germany just so they can out trap. had it all day in work from people and iv wrecks me head!

Still no McClean? He's been tweeted very harshly.
