Have to say that the Sunday gig, certainly in terms of the crowd, was quite different. Nowhere near the level of people who didnt appear to know their first album, but certainly some still present, including a few dickheads beside me. Perhaps that was simply down to the face the Sunday was the first gig announced and sold out straight away, the Monday one may have attracted more event junkies as a result. Performance wise I thought they were really good, great set, though no 'My Body Is A Cage' which I absolutely love. The crowd were well up for it and seemed to really get the band going also. In saying that, I've seen Arcade Fire numerous times at this stage, in various settings, and it was down the list in terms of their gigs, but when you take into account how good that Electric Picnic gig was, there's no shame, it was still a great gig.

The National on Friday outdid them alright, outstanding stuff and far superior venue.

Former Thin Lizzy guitarist Gary Moore found dead in Spain this morning. Sad news, was some guitarist in his day.

Here's rare footage of him as an 18-year old with Brush Shiels.

But he'll be better remembered for penning this tune:

That makes me worry for the youth.

If you've a few quid to spare, this is one of my favourite albums by a mile: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_the_City_(The_Jam_album)

    Must Have a listen then.

I've grown up with me Da playing The Jam, The Clash, Madness etc. which is why I like them so much. Anything post probably 2005 apart from really good bands, Strokes, Arcade Fire, I just haven't a clue.

Tbh, don't think they sound that much like Oasis. Remind me of the Beatles more so.
Still can't wait for their gig next week.
    Should be epic

nice to see RTE radio 1 giving new acts a whole hour on the air to promote themselves ,happens all the time:-( . Paul "fuck You fuck you"Gogarty has cleverly taken advantage of the huge hole in the music industry market for hated bi-sexual failed politicians who sing with a pronounced effeminate Lisp . cant wait for the album :-0

These lads are about 14 or something and they're from Cavan. They're unreal. Fairly Beatles-y
