Oh I didn't say he wasn't too good for Liverpool. I just think he's overrated. Done well at Leicester.

you'd be surprised, those type of managers are always talking about projects
Thats code name for "I've joined thsi club that people think is below me because they've given me a boatload of money".

liverpool haven't got a boatload of money
"We've seen you come, we'll see you go"

I think O'Neill prefers a job where there is no real pressure on him. Anything more than a mid table finish with a club like Sunderland is a great season. There is pressure at Celtic but the worst you can do is finish second and any type of positive result in Europe is seen as a huge result. Good manager but for average teams

Think he would do well if he ever took the Ireland job in the future
And Brian Kerr is in tears.

O'Neill is an over rated hoof merchant. Comes in, shakes the club up and lifts everyone with his enthusiasm than fucks off when he gets found out. Already found out at Sunderland

Nothing anybody achieves with either old firm can be counted cos the league is a farce. Did well at Leicester, that's about it.

Genuine question: how can you rave over Mourinho, Pulis, and Trap, yet dismiss O'Neill as a hoof merchant?

Say what you like about his Celtic achievements, but he did a sterling job at Villa. He made great signings across the park - Friedel, Petrov, Cueller, Young, Downing... - and had them playing the best counter-attacking game since Keegan's Newcastle.

Wow, your comparing mourinho and O'Neill. OK, the first thing O'neill does everywhere he goes is deploy a big lump of a centre forward. Heskey at leicester and Villa, Hartson at Celtic, he had a bid for Davies turned down in the last transfer window at sunderland and i have no doubt he'll go for a big man in the summer.

There is no comparison at all between him and jose so i dont even know what to say to that. Even Traps style at ireland is totally different. We dont play a long ball, we play a rigid 442 with holding mids and attack down the flanks.
Pulis is a hoof merchant but the difference is, Pulis is what he is. The key to what i said is oneill is an overrated hoof merchant, not just a hoof merchant. He has been linked with jobs a liverpool, man utd and even England. Pulis wouldnt even get a sniff at any of these jobs because he's deemed unfasionable but O'neill for some unknown reason to me is held in high esteem in England

'Cup specialists' Sligo out at the first hurdle, lost 3-1 at home to Monaghan. The last 2 years were clearly all John Russell

Anyone else watching Switzerland v Germany? Currently 5-3 to the Swiss. Germany absolutely shocking at the back!

Ye. They still have all their Bayern players to come back. Still no excuse letting in 5 to the Swiss though
