From my brief time as a ref , in a shoot out the penalty finishes when the ball stop's moving forward , didn't see this one but if it hit post and came back out and hit keepers and then went in it should not count

Think that's still the law in shoot outs.

The sky commentator said the law had changed recently. Immediately said something like 'in previous years that wouldn't have been allowed'

Think that's right actually. Looking at the Laws (page 52) there doesn't appear to be any mention of this anymore, they must have just dropped it.

BTW I always thought which end the penalties got taken into was decided by a coin toss - it isn't, it's just the ref's decision. Doesn't seem fair.

maybe most ref's do it by toss of coin anyway. But if there are security or pitch concerns, it means they have wiggle room

You're almost as persistent as Trevor Carey looking for his poxy tape. Suarez was in the wrong from beginning to end. Johnson should have refused to give that interview. If Liverpool have any sense they'll shut up shop on this.

He is hardly confirming anything. He is giving his view on it, and he shouldnt bother, it only drags it back up.

For the record, I also think Evra played it and knew what he was doing. Just pointing out that nothing in that article "confirms" it

From an independent source with no vested interest? Yeah Defo.

It's naive to think anybody but standard chartered were behind Suarez and dalglish's statements

I would've thought it was more the owners.

But regardless, players just don't give interviews for the hell of it, there's ALWAYS an agenda.

    Now who's being naive....

its NEVER the player. We're all agreed on that.

Suarez didn't want to apologise and Johson didn't want to try and defend him

But thats why they'r epaid millions. To shut up and get on with it

nope. I'm saying johnsons words were his and the statements from Suarez and Kenny were manufactured to temper the situation and keep sponsors etc happy

Don't be ridiculous Dodge. Everyone knows they are all only on €100 a week and the love of wearing the Hoop jersey. I heard Twigg even pays Rovers for the privilege of playing for them
And Brian Kerr is in tears.
