Just realised in the future Ireland's front line could be

Would it have as much penetration as Keane-Cox?

Why not a strike force of 3?

I hear Trapp has Dunne-Long-Cox in his mind.

Some win for Ireland against a strong-ish italian team. Do the wins in the carling nations cup count towards our ranking?

I'd say so, we should go up a few places in the rankings after the recent games. Unfortunately the pots have already been decided for the World Cup 2014 draw in July and we stay in pot 3

I think based on population size , league structure etc they are one of the most over achieving nations in world football. Its in the book "Why England lost and other curious phenomena" by simon kuper

Pot 1: Spain, Netherlands, Germany, England, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Norway, Greece.

Pot 2: Serbia, Slovenia, Russia, France, Montenegro, Switzerland, Slovakia, Denmark, Sweden.

Pot 3: Bulgaria, Turkey, Czech Republic, Israel, Ireland, Ukraine, Belgium, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Pot 4: Albania, Hungary, Belarus, Lithuania, Georgia, Armenia, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Poland.

Pot 5: Austria, Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Macedonia, Moldova, Cyprus, Azerbaijan, Wales.

Think we'd definitely qualify ahead of the likes of Norway and Greece from the top tier and no reason why we couldnt surprise Italy if we got them...
the second tier is tough alright a lot of quality teams in it but i think Slovenia, Russia, France, Montenegro, Switzerland, Slovakia and Denmark are all beatable if we have a good day.

England are pot 1 so can't get Greece. I'd love to get England in the group.

England and Northern Ireland in the same group as us would be great banter altogether!
