    in the republic...

Its always been illegal to drink on buses in the North. Now they just won't let you have it on the bus.

    large bottles of coke allround?

I'm not sure it's actually legal to drink on busses down here either - a few coach drivers over the years told me it was illegal but I'm not sure if there was any actual law which specifically banned it.

Never banned drinking because of the law. Banned it in response to the antics of drunk passengers on and off the bus. Though large bottles of Pepsi became very popular afterwards for some strange reason...

Does liability fall with the owner of the drink, the organiser of the bus, or the bus driver?
Not much point saying you didnt know if you are just landing Hano in the shit.
