I met Dave Mulcahy last night. The watered down sobered up version goes like this.

Me: Alright Dave, you're a legend! big fan.
    Muller: I hope you're a pats fan?
    Me: Yeah I am.
Muller: Delighted! really hope yis win it this year. You lot deserve it, great club.

So now he's an even bigger hero.

Sounds like if you said you were not a pats fan, you would be dead right now!

Around 1997, this chap and his business partner, Tommy Higgins, made an unsuccessful attempt to buy St Patrick's Athletic FC.

As far as I know, they weren't fans as such. They just saw it as a good business opportunity.

so, i was walking back to me car after the ireland-sweden game and there were 2 swedish oul fellas who were looking at the map lost. i gave them directions and walked along with them. was talking about football and they said they lived near gothenburg but inland. and i say "it isnt boras by any chance". the two of them stopped and couldnt believe it. its turns out that one was an elfsborg season ticket holder and the other was a local commentator that worked on all their matches. (i thought it was the twooooo twooooo lad but i listened to the youtube clip and its not). anyway both of them were at the game in inchicore and the commentator lad got a pats jersey from a club official. he looks out for our results now.

Apologies if I'm out of order for posting this but I know there are a lot of people involved in football clubs and other community projects in Clondalkin, Lucan, Tallaght, etc.

I've launched a fund for small grants (€250/€500) for groups working in youth and sport, older people and the environment in the South Dublin County Council area. There's more information and an application form at http://www.sdublincoco.ie/index.aspx...=939&pid=27293. I'd strongly encourage people to apply and spread the word and there is help available with regard to Tax Clearance Certs and other paperwork.

I would say it's a problem with the phone, but I wouldn't be 100per cent sure.

Wrap it in a small towel and put it into a bowl of rice for a few hours

It's really 50/50 but if there is any moisture in it a short circuit could happen

Went on the Dublin bay cruise today with the mrs and three kids. If the bloke on the dock says its going to be "a bit choppy" expect scenes from The Perfect Storm or the worst of Deadliest Catch. Spent the entire time puking with two of the kids. Fucking horrendous. Can't remember the last time I had a non drink related "illness".
