Wait until after November 4th and either ring the relative authorites or slap a newspaper page or a poster of a victorious Pats cup winning team on the Hooped bastards windscreen! Then call the relative authorities!

So this 'Prominent Irish Celebrity' accused of raping a teenage girl about 30 years back, any idea who it is? Obviously DO NOT POST ACTUAL NAMES but subtle clues if you've heard anything that sounds remotely informed would be welcome.

On a related note, Tom Humphries was finally charged over his, ahem 'relationship', with an underage girl a few weeks back. Apparently he walked into the Irish Times and expected to be let carry on in his job. Awkward...

Might be related or not, but hasn't the big Dublin GAA forum closed after an 'indecent' pic of someone underage was posted? Only caught the end of a conversation between mates

The only reasomn Humphries wasn't charged earlier was due to him being 'psychologically evaluated'

AFAIK, it closed after a disagreement between the lads running over whether it should have been allowed to be posted or not. One of the mods approved it, the site admin had a shitfit when he realised he had, there was a row, admin decided he didn't need this crap (there was a very near libel case at one stage and there were other scrapes over the decade it ran). Didn't see the offending pic myself but it definitely wasn't pornographic, it was just a matter of whether it was appropriate in the context. Shame it's gone, the admin could be a bit of a drama queen but it was a very active and very well regulated site with some great posters (if GAA is your thing which I know it isn't yours).

Think the official line was that he wasn't in a fit mental state to be charged. He got a good eighteen months out of that line.

Cheers for the clarification Gaz. Moderating forums is a pain in the balls alright. Not bad here as most are sound and the numbers are OK. Can aonly imagine what a Dub GAA one was like

Don't think its the money. They were getting hassle off the club board, and a couple of legal threats issued

So the lads got a bit pissed off by it

    yeah just seen this
Folks, firstly thanks for all the support.
I'd just like to clarify that the fundraising is to help offset substantial recent legal costs accrued by thebohs.com. We're not going to discuss details, for legal reasons (I hope you can understand this), but a lot of you are aware of the situation, and can also probably work things out based on recent forum posts. I'd ask you not to start any discussion of it on here though please.
It's a very risky situation legally being the owner of the site, so I'm looking for someone else to take it over, and whether or not that happens will determine if the forum continues or not. The best thing would be if several people came in to run it, maybe including some of the people involved in fundraising here. It is a very precarious position to be in though, legally speaking.
just seen this hano run for the hills....

This is an old story and the celeb has spoken about this matter publicly in the past. I find it hard to believe that after 30 years this allegation has any substance as the celeb has acknowledged that the child is his. Well known in show business is this individual.
