    Shay Given

In ther papers this morning that he'll meet with Mancini tomorrow to say he wants to go out on loan, Celtc look favourites for him at the moment. Daily Mail says Arsenal want him but City won't loan him out to title rivals.

Hope he stays in the Premiership

Did he not get a 5 or 6 year deal when he went to City? I would not see him getting that at any other club.

Hart had a big advantage going into this game because I dont think Given did a full pre-season its unlucky for him . Arsenal would be his best bet but as everyone is saying City wont let him go to title rivals . Celtic would be too much of a step down for his ability IMO

I have not seen any papers, but what slavia said was that they wont loan him to any rivals. Not sure Arsenal could afford him tbh.

arsenal going for the fulham keeper, looks a dead cert at this stage

shay would wake into any club bar united, chelsea, liverpool, villa, real madrid, barca, not becasue their keepers are better just because they are settled with what they have.

i can see him going to fulham

I honestly dont think Shay is that type of player - He sint a mercenary - he has been very loyal throughout his career and I reckon hed take a major paycut to be playing regularly with a team challenging.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has revealed he will allow Shay Given to leave the club, clearing the way for a permanent transfer to Arsenal.

Arsenal are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper to replace error-prone Manuel Almunia this season, with speculation growing that Arsene Wenger prefers Given to his other top target - Fulham's Mark Schwarzer.

And Mancini, speaking ahead of his side's Europa League qualifier against FC Timisoara on Thursday, has admitted he will not stand in Given's way if the 34-year-old demands a move after being demoted to the bench in favour of 23-year-old England international Joe Hart.

"I hope he can stay," said Mancini.

"But I respect his decision if he wants to leave."

The comments will put both Arsenal and Fulham on high alert for the Republic of Ireland international, with the Cottagers expected to move for Given if the Gunners opt to go through with their efforts to sign Schwarzer from Fulham instead

I'd say Arsenal are delicately trying to sign him but terrified they'll piss off Schwarzer in case City won't sell to Arsenal.

I'd be surprised if City let him go to any of the top 7 or 8 - they don't need the money or to be helping the competition.

As an arsenal follower I'd love to sign him, worth 10 points as opposed to keeping almunia with us
