Its the same as the 5530 (the one I have) but without the music express and wifi. I know a few people with that phone and they never seem to have problems with it.

The galaxy tablet is meant to be a savage piece of kit. Reckon I'll treat my self to iPad 2.0 when it comes out next year though.

Crap. 3 networks (O2, Vodafone & T-Mobile) that are happy to over charge and not compete. There's no such thing for example as PAYG at home and topping up by X amount and getting anything free

Should never have got a taxi here, thought I told Dan to only use AAA Taxi's. Lot of problems over here with them, especially with tourists. A guy was on the news the other night after calling the police on his mobile while he was in a taxi as the taxi driver added onto bill 2000kc (about 70 euro) for waiting 3 minutes while the customer used a bank machine.

A mate of mine has a htc and it is very fancy alright but the samsung galaxy and the iphone are defo better. I have a galaxy and they are top notch.
free sky sports channels, flash player, video calling run on 3g as oppose to wifi, hook it up to your tv's hdmi, tethering, bluetooth all put it ahead of the iphone for me but of course its a personal thing. Both phones lead the way tbh

I'm paying €45 a month on my phone which gives me unlimited texts and calls to any network. Also gives me something like 10MB of internet download a month too.

I'm with Vodafone though, just thought I'd post it up to see if that would help.

im with pay as you go, with vodafone.

top up €30 quid a month, free texts to any network and free internet. then when the month is gone, i just use the 30quid for the texting and internet.

depends on what type of person ya are, if you text or call more, id prefer to txt.

DO NOT GO NEAR METEOR BILL PAY!
I was pay as you go and had no trouble with them at all. Went bill pay and got one of them smartphones. It was broke for 6 of the first 7 weeks so I threatened to cancel my contract. They would only cancel if I paid off the remainder of my contract. I since moved to another country and asked them to unlock my phone for me and I would continue to pay my bill and have use of my irish phone for recieving texts and free web texts, but would also have my smartphone over here. They said i would have it done the following day. That was 12 weeks and 7/8 phonecalls ago!!! They blame sony ericcson and will do nothing to help me. I rang Sony Ericcson and they said they always have problems with Meteor and that they were talkin rubbish. Will have to get it unlocked myself. When I spoke to the Meteor bloke I asked why they were not chasing sony ericcson so, he said I should do it myself. When I asked who their contact was, he told me to google Sony Ericcson!! They are a useless shower and I would never go near them again.

Why go bill pay with anyone? I'm tied in with Meteor at present, roughly 60 squid a month. Also have a PAYG vodafone, same deal for 20. Can't wait for my meteor contract to be up so I can switch to e-mobile and get all my calls and texts for tenner a week and be done with the other two.

Be patient internet will be completley free soon enough for both bill and payg.

Then you should only pay for calls assuming your using a texting app like cabbage, and if internet is free yah may as well email someone or use mobile msn or somthing.

Don't see the point in bill pay tbh. The deals with PAYG seem to be far better, unless you want a really expensive phone for cheaper. Always thought Meteor was by far the best network when I was still at home, but they all followed and pretty much do the same deals now

Meteor is grand yeah, until you hit some rural village where coverage is non-existent.

This old chestnut. Worked in the industry for about 9 years but don't any more. Not particularly biased to any one network here (as I worked for both O2 and Meteor) but I'd say O2 have the best customer care of the lot. I reckon all networks are by default unhelpful if you try wrangling your way out of a contract (even if you're justified in doing so), particularly if there's a third party they can pin the blame on. I've been Meteor Bill Pay for over 3 years and never had a problem. As Dodge says there is no 'best network to be with' - it depends on your own circumstances and what you want from your phone deal.

It's about 2 years since I looked at the revenue split from prepaid/bill pay. At that time the cut off point for prepay was about €24 - in other words if you spent less than this a month you were better off on prepay, above it you were better off on bill pay. If you're a high volume user on prepay you're probably getting royally screwed.

And by the way every network has coverage blackspots and not always in isolated areas either. For years O2 had no coverage at all in Mountrath Co Laois due to a local dispute.

Have to say, I've been all over Ireland with meteor and never had signal problems (though I remember when they first started, you couldn't get a siganl outside Dublin or Cork )
