They've been getting stricter and most places only accept Garda age cards.
Depends where you go tbh and how the bouncers are feeling that night. Can be a bit hit and miss.
You're better off with a passport or age card.
If its a full one you should be Grand, never heard of someone getting refused with one...
If you're not drunk and look over 18 you'll be grand with one, If you're acting the bollox they will find any excuse not to let you in

depends where you go i have a age card have no problems getting into bars / clubs
not to sure about driving licence though ?
