I was told by a Shams fan it was something to do with Warrior

Here's the bit on Rovers site

Not a single mention of Warrior. Both would mention one of the biggest sponsors if they were involved in the friendly
FAI organised. 100%
Will take your word for it, can't be bothered reading either website
Recon there's plenty of clubs in the league that aren't too happy about Rovers or any club the FAI could have chosen been handed what will be unbalanced publicity and revenue in all sorts of ways compared to themselves... Rovers have already had high profile fixtures against Madrid and Spurs among others... This could have been another clubs chance!
Course, but the FAI went about selecting a club to play Liverpool knowing full well it would create major promotion for that club then surely Rovers having already had significant promotion already for example playing them fixtures i mentioned shouldn't have been chosen, take nothing away from Rovers, fair play to them, they've just been asked to turn up, not their fault...
its to do with Warrior the kit maker. They seem very proactive, every schoolboy academy kid got a free Jersey.
edit..just saw dodges rant lol, I was told as soon as the warrior deal was signed this game was happening. Who knows, nice coup tho but I'd rather be in the champions league draw :-P
If the FAI are so worried about appeasing kit makers, when is our friendly against Everton? After all Liverpool is a city with such cultural and historic links to Dublin.

UEFA Nations League to be launched. Sounds interesting
Jaysus Slavia are shite :( Getting worse every season :(
:D Interesting theory alright
So rovers goalie smashes his face into the post, is clearly knocked out, yet is let stay on the pitch by the medics...
Was the post alright?
Thought there was some new rule that if a concussion was confirmed, the player isn't allowed play for 17-21 days? Is that not why Ger hadn't been playing?
Shams look solid last night and deserved the 3 points. Sligo on the other hand looked dangerous on the counter attack but very poor when they didn't have the ball.
Early days

Interesting one this.
Anyone else thinking 15/2 for Chelsea to win the Premiership after the weekend's results is a big overreaction by the bookies? Bar the Liverpool game (which they're well capable of winning - look what they did to City away) their remaining fixtures look very winnable (granted Villa and Palace did too). Liverpool have a tough run-in and with practically no title winning experience among either players or managers, you'd have to have doubts about how they'll handle the pressure and hype. It looks like it's City's to lose but I have doubts about them in crunch games too, they rarely perform anywhere near their best in such games. Think Chelsea are worth a punt meself.
