Coombes scored! Hope we have somebody keeping an eye on him
The Homeless drew against Cork at 'home' against 10 men. Made ME smile. I'd say they're already calling for Croly's head on Sty Forum.
It was pretty evident over the last few seasons that whenever Twigg was missing they found it very difficult to score. That's more evident now than ever.
I can't see them coming close to Sligo. Having said that, I can't see anyone coming close to Sligo unfortunately.
Just thought I'd mention implode to make me seem intelligent.
Last team to win their opening 5 games? us in 2007. Didn't mean shite in the end. Lets look after our own performances and see where we are in a couple of months
There's a few of Bohs young players that don't look too bad going on last night.
I think all but one of Eldings goals have been headers this season.
"@davylynch1: @rovershoopDOC if our results and sligo's continued the same way between now and nov we would be 52 points behind them then. #crolyout"
Davvylynch1 seems like a worldly fellow.
Rovers booed off at HT. Croly under pressure already: Rovers fans are Morons...
Watched Bayern vs Hamburg today, Finished 9-2 to Bayern. Hamburgs goals were both from corners at the end. Honestly could have been 15-0
Bayern really are bossing that league this season!
Was hoping you'd be watching Augsburg vs Hannover 96 (just around the corner from the Royal Spa Bad K.) ;)
Probably our worst game since I don't know when... at least the first 60 min. BUT
But then we finally scored (61st min. 0:1 Konstantin "Kocka" Rausch*, his first goal in the season, and him again in the 91st min 0:2) and - what's really important - finally managed to lift that curse of not being able to win away ("worst away team" in the BuLi...). What a relief! 3 extremely precious points (And now we may at least dream again - of the last of the international places on the league table :o)
And on our way home great news from the Saints again: What a truly wonderful day!
From Hannover to Dublin-Inchicore: Happy Easter everyone
*(Kocka Rausch was born in the former SU, where he and his family were part of the german minority in Kazakhstan, most of which have settled in Germany in the last decades. He is a true 96er, having played for our youth teams since he was 14.)
Very surprising to hear that Rausch only got his first of the season yesterday! He's always looked very dangerous when I've seen him play, including against Pats
Keep fingers crossed please;)
With a bit of luck even 7th place might do (like last season when we got to Europe from there). German BuLi gets a 7th (EL-place
if (1) Freiburg win their Cup-Semi-Final (away vs VFB Stuttgart on Wed. 17.04.2013) -
and thus go to play the Cup-final (vs either Bayern or VW on Sat 01.06.2013 in Berlin)
- which (alone) would entitle them to play EL -
and
if (2) they also end up on one of the first 6 ("regular" international) places by the end of match day 34 (18.05.).
Now, let's get serious again: We shouldn't dream of a final
I would say, we'll see Pats and Hannover 96 play the 2014 EL-Semi-Final
I was very impressed with Bohs, they have a few really good young players and all are very comfortable on the ball and play a good passing game. They are a tiny team tho. I don't think they started with any player over 6 foot
Elding is an absolute beast. He just keeps everything simply but he is effective.
Nothing wrong with Europe on a technicality
He definitely looks good so far, but a good start is just that - a good start. He's the wrong side of thirty and hasn't settled at any club for a long period of time. He might turn out to be not all he's made out to be. This league has been littered througout the years with strikers who were raved about to begin with, but couldn't sustain it over a longer stretch. Alex Nesovic and Guy Bates spring to mind. Both of them did play big parts in winning league titles, but turned out to be dog shit not long after.
He played and finished last night V UCD? Involved in a bit of handbags at the final whistle
Claims he was racially abused and went after a UCD player as the teams went off. Was booked too.
Heard nothing about an injury
he'll be carrying a mental amount of timber.
To be fair to him, he was as wide as he was tall hwen he first came to us, and he did alright. I know he shifted a good bit, but still.
North on subs bench for Sligo V UCD.
